Progress Of Developments in the Tianjin Eco-City
The groundbreaking ceremonies for various projects in the Tianjin Eco-city Start-up Area (SUA) were held in recent months. The Keppel Land development, which broke ground on 27 November 2009, is a 35 hectare-large integrated commercial and residential development, with a total Gross Floor Area (GFA) of 680, 000 sqm. The Farglory integrated eco-community development, with a total GFA of 1.4 million sqm, will include a recreational and entertainment hub. The Eco-Industrial Park will have ready-built factories housing light and clean industries from green business clusters. The groundbreaking ceremonies for the Farglory development and Eco-Industrial Park both took place on 30 December 2009. Construction work is also proceeding rapidly at the National Animation Park, which is a national-level project supported by the PRC Ministry of Culture. Piling works have been completed, and work has already begun on the superstructure of the main buildings, which will house facilities for research and production and an animation college. The basic construction of the Park is targeted for completion by the end of 2010. 2010 will mark an exciting phase of the Eco-city’s development, as various other projects such as the Eco-Business Park, the Shimao development and the first schools in the Eco-city are scheduled to commence work in spring. The remaining phases of the road and water services networks in the Start-Up Area are also on track for completion by the middle of 2010. |
