1ST MEETING OF THE JOINT WORKING COMMITTEE ON THE ECO-CITY PROJECT Mr Mah Bow Tan, Minister for National Development, is leading a delegation comprising representatives from agencies involved in the Eco-city project to attend the 1st meeting of the Joint Working Committee (JWC) on the Eco-city project in Beijing on 7 November 2007. Minister Mah will be meeting Mr Wang Guangtao, the Minister of Construction (MOC) from the People's Republic of China (PRC), who co-chairs the JWC. The JWC will discuss the proposed sites for the Eco-city project, key project milestones, as well as matters relating to PRC Premier Wen Jiabao's visit to Singapore later this month. Over the past few months, Singapore has been meeting the local governments of the various candidate cities to better understand the features of the proposed sites and the terms they would offer the joint venture if the Eco-city were to locate in their city.
